Lynne Marie's

ORGANIZATIONAL STYLE

When I first called on Lynne to help me organize my office, it was because I just couldn’t face the task of cleaning it on my own.  For years, my office was the dumping ground for everything that could “wait”.  The rest of my house was fine, but my office resembled a landfill.  Whenever I went to straighten it out, I got a feeling of panic, closed the door, and walked away, believing I would do it later when I felt stronger.  Lynne helped me see I could do it, if I took small steps and gave every item a place.  The trick was to just get started.  The first thing we did was clean off my desk.  Having a nice, clean organized desk gave me a place to work.  We would sit at my desk and sort through things, deciding what to keep, toss, give away, or recycle.  When my desk was clean, I was so EXCITED to keep going.  Although I brought piles of papers and other things to the desk, I never left the desk cluttered again.  In other words, once I started a pile, I would finish it.  Even if I wanted to work for hours, I would take only a small pile at a time, so I could quit when I got tired.  Little, by little, we worked our way across the long room, filling storage boxes, shelves, and labeling them.  Lynne’s presence made me forget about the mess and focus on achieving my goal.  With her by my side, I had so much fun:  I soon realized it wasn’t such an impossible task.  Today, my office is my “sacred space.”  Everything has a place and it is a clean, warm and inviting room where I go to feel good.  I have my favorite pictures on the walls.  Items on shelves remind me of great places I have been or of people I love.  Whenever I want to take time out and center myself, I go to my home office, where I feel at peace and no longer panicked.

I hired Lynne to help me with my home office, laundry room and my craft room.  I was no longer able to function in any of these places anymore.  My office was filled to ceiling with paperwork.  Some of it was old some new, but I was unable to tell the difference anymore.  My laundry room was packed with everything but laundry and my craft room had my vast stamping collection scattered all over.  Lynne helped me to see the forest through the trees.  She helped me to focus on one small area at a time.  She taught me to stop looking at the whole area and be happy with the small accomplishments we were able to make when she was there helping me.  As we made our way through each room I was able to see the fruits of our efforts.  This feeling propelled me to want to move faster. With Lynne’s help we came up with routines so I would never become the disorganized mess I was before.  I am happy to say my office, laundry and craft room are still organized and I am able to get the full use out of each area.   Thank you, Lynne, for everything.  Your positive can do attitude was what kept me going on the darkest of days.
